Many other sciences are tied to it too - chemistry, physics, and biology all depend entirely on mathematical equations. One of the most essential branches of math in human life is statistics, the science concerned with collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data in order to draw conclusions. Statistics are used in almost every field - politics, medicine, economics, weather forecasting, and more. For example, one medical statistic showed that 85 to 95 percent of lung cancers are linked to smoking. Most businesses are also interested in gathering data about potential customers and competitors in order to develop the products and services they offer. That's why most scientific, commercial, or political institutions and organizations hire a specialist called a "statistical assistant," whose job is to gather data and information and analyze and interpret it.
